Rathbone School House in Eagle River, Michigan. This one-room schoolhouse was the birthplace of the Knights of Pythias, which grew to include some 2,000 lodges in the U.S. and Canada. Preserved by the Keweenaw Historical Society, with two different displays. There's the actual schoolroom from 1864 or so, and also a display case with the colorful paraphernalia, costumes, and mementoes of the Knights of Pythias secret fraternal society. Two blocks west of the harbor on Center St., or one block south of St. Peter's-by-the Sea on M-26.
