An albino deer emerges from the deep green underforest. All-white deer are protected animals in several states, including Wisconsin, and cannot be legally hunted. Wildlife biologist Ron Eckstein, of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, says albinos make up less than a tenth of a percent of whitetails. Wisconsin has more than 1.5 million white-tailed deer.
